What is Rack?
A rack is a bar with linear teeth and a cylindrical gear with an infinite diameter. A rack is defined as a bar or rod with a surface having a succession of identically shaped teeth spaced at equal intervals.
There are straight racks, which are relatively simple to make. There are also helical racks, which are strong and quiet, and are suitable for high-speed operation. In addition, helical racks are used in conjunction with helical gears with the same helix angle (opposite helix direction), but axial force also occurs because of the helical gear line.
